Senior iOS Engineer II

iOS Engineer - High Volume Send Team (Mobile)

About Wise

Wise is a global technology company building the best way to move and manage the world’s money. Our mission is to make international payments min fees, max ease, full speed—for people and businesses sending money abroad, spending internationally, and making cross-border payments.

As part of our team, you’ll help create an entirely new network for the world’s money, ensuring seamless experiences for every customer, everywhere.

More about our mission

About the Role

The High Volume teams within our Send squad specialise in serving customers who send large amounts of money internationally—whether they're:

  • Individuals buying property abroad
  • Managing wealth across countries
  • Businesses making substantial cross-border payments

The team’s mission is to make international payments seamless, from a £500k property purchase to a company’s global payroll, ensuring transparent pricing, clear limits, and full coverage—on all devices.

You’ll collaborate closely across two teams:

  • Send High Volume Team – Focuses on high-value, high-trust transactions, ensuring smooth experiences for senders with deep customisation, verification, and approval workflows.
  • Business Send Team – Designs and builds the best cross-border payment solutions for businesses, making international transfers, payrolls, and bulk payments effortless.

As an iOS Engineer in this role, you’ll be at the forefront of designing and shipping high-impact mobile features. This is a technical ownership opportunity, shaping critical parts of our app that help high-volume users manage their money efficiently on-the-go.

What You’ll Work On

As the principal iOS engineer for both teams, you’ll: ✔ Own the end-to-end mobile experience for all high-volume financial operations, ensuring they work as effortlessly on iOS as they do on desktop. ✔ Manage property purchases, cross-currency payrolls, and large one-off transfers via mobile (e.g., approving transfers via the Wise app from an airport). ✔ Develop, refine, and scale custom solutions that handle edge cases for high-risk or high-value flows (e.g., KYC verifications, multi-authorisation checks). ✔ Partner closely with product teams to define pain points, experiment with innovations, and influence product direction. ✔ Work closely with our remote desktop team to bridge gaps between web and mobile, ensuring consistency across platforms. ✔ Contribute to code quality, performance optimisations, and UX improvements across the entire app, collaborating with +60 Mobile engineers. ✔ Collaborate with full-stack, backend, and domain experts (compliance, fraud prevention) to ensure robust, secure, and performant mobile solutions.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

  • Strong expertise in Swift—clean, maintainable code that performs.
  • Experience with architectural patterns like MVC, MVVM, or VIPER (we currently use VIPER and MVVM and are open to evaluating others).
  • Test-centric approach—you see writing and running tests as a fundamental practice, writing code that’s malleable, monitorable, and resilient.
  • REST API design understanding—you know how to structure endpoints, manage security and orchestrate services for reliability.
  • Strong product mindset—focus on addressing tangible user pain points, and you’re comfortable using user data to make informed decisions.
  • UX-first attitude—you push for clarity, seamless transitions, and intuitiveness in every interaction.
  • Clear technical and non-technical communication—you can synthesise technical concerns into actionable insights and explain concepts to non-specialists.
  • Ownership mindset—you’re proactive, driven to ship impactful solutions, and don’t wait for perfect circumstances.
  • Experience with:
    • SwiftUI (bonus)
    • Structured Concurrency (bonus)
    • CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions for review, deployment, and rollbacks) (bonus)
