Job Description

This is a predominantly remote role, with occasional travel required. The team meets in person twice per month in Irlam for collaboration and team sessions.

As the UK’s largest independent full fibre network and wholesale platform of choice, we’re busy setting new standards for what digital infrastructure can and should be.

Our network is greener, more reliable and designed for the future. The products we run over it lead the way on speed, value and service - helping businesses to innovate, communities to thrive, and people to live more connected digital lives.

At CityFibre, you’ll be part of something bigger, helping to build a better-connected Britain, together.

Joining us as a Senior IP Capacity Planner

You’ll play a critical role in ensuring the active network never runs out of capacity, covering core, edge, aggregation and access IP domains. Working within the Architecture & Engineering function, you’ll own end-to-end capacity planning, building accurate forecasts and scenario-driven models that enable proactive, strategic decision-making across the network lifecycle. This role goes beyond operational capacity management—you’ll translate demand signals into long-term capacity strategies, investment plans, and delivery priorities, ensuring the network scales efficiently and sustainably.

You’ll receive a competitive salary, a performance-related bonus, and a range of benefits to support you across your financial, physical and mental wellbeing.

This is some of what you can expect to be doing:

  • Owning end-to-end capacity forecasts for active network equipment, including defining thresholds, risks, and augment triggers
  • Building and maintaining proactive, scenario-based models covering growth, resilience, and failure planning
  • Translating product growth and demand signals into long-term capacity strategies and budget plans
  • Generating data-driven augment recommendations and partnering with Engineering and Delivery teams to ensure execution
  • Using network telemetry, inventory, and performance data to build accurate, governed forecasting models
  • Incorporating space, power, and peak utilisation metrics into all planning decisions
  • Leading capacity reviews, influencing senior stakeholders, and ensuring zero capacity-driven incidents

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
