Our North American HCP team began in 2014, expanding capabilities with the 2017 acquisition of MAYA Design (a Pittsburgh-based digital design and innovation lab).
The Role
We are seeking an Senior IT Consultant with expertise in UK public sector technology transformations, particularly with Oracle Cloud HCM, to join our Public Sector Transformation team. You will:
- Drive mission-critical digital initiatives in critical sectors like NHS, Government (MOD, MOJ, Local/Central Gov), and beyond.
- Deliver systems implementation, functional/technical design, testing, and data migration, with a focus on:
- Oracle Cloud HCM modules such as Core HR, Payroll, Talent Management, Recruiting.
- Oracle ME (Manager Engine), DWH (Data Warehouse), and foundational technologies.
- Collaborate with public sector stakeholders to transform legacy systems into scalable, agile digital platforms.
- Apply strategic thinking to IT challenges, leveraging modern technologies like cloud, AI, microservices, and DevOps.
- Guide client technology teams in adopting Agile frameworks, risk management, and scalable solutions.
- Contribute to project delivery, mentoring junior team members, and expanding BCG’s consulting capabilities.
- Represent BCG in case discussions, business proposals, and client-facing engagements.

What You’ll Bring
Essential Qualifications
Required experience and expertise to drive outsized value as a Senior IT Consultant:
- 6–10 years delivering large-scale technology transformations, with a primary focus on UK public sector (NHS, MOD, MOJ, Local/Central Government).
- Prior consulting experience (ideally in technology strategy, digital transformation, or full-scale system implementations).
- Hands-on expertise in:
- Oracle Cloud HCM Implementation (Core HR, Payroll, Talent Management, Recruiting).
- Data migration and system testing for complex environments.
- Functional/technical design in Agile/hybrid delivery models.
- Public sector delivery acumen, including familiarity with NHS Digital Fred or UK Government’s DANR/FORMD frameworks.
- Problem-solving mindset: Able to simplify complex technical challenges for non-technical stakeholders.
- Workshop facilitation & client engagement: Experience leading peer-level discussions and managing client expectations.
- Strong business acumen: Can contextualize technology solutions within cost/benefit/sustainability frameworks.
- Technical foundations: Proficiency with Oracle Cloud/Finance HCM, DWH, and Enterprise Manager.
