Senior IT Engineer
Location: Seven Oaks, Kent
Contract Duration: 6 Months+
Clearance: EDBS Check Ideal
Role Overview:
We're looking for an experienced, hands-on Senior IT Engineer who enjoys solving technical problems whilst improving the overall IT environment. You'll be equally comfortable supporting users, acting as a senior escalation point, and taking ownership of initiatives that improve the service, driving KPI’s, SLA’s and internal documentation.
What We're Looking For:
- Providing Senior 2nd Line support, confidently acting as an escalation point for complex technical issues and supporting into 3rd Line where required.
- Administering Microsoft 365, Active Directory, Windows Server and Intune, with exposure to Microsoft Entra ID considered advantageous.
- Troubleshooting and supporting networking infrastructure, including switching, VLANs and wireless connectivity.
- Working closely with third-party suppliers to coordinate escalations, manage incidents and ensure timely resolution.
- Building and maintaining technical documentation, knowledge bases and support procedures to improve consistency and knowledge sharing.
- Supporting the implementation or continual improvement of helpdesk processes, ticket management and service delivery.
- Identifying opportunities to improve infrastructure, processes and operational efficiency while maintaining a hands-on approach to day-to-day support.
- Demonstrating excellent troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to take ownership of issues through to resolution.
- Communicating confidently with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, providing an excellent customer experience and building strong working relationships.
- Bringing a proactive, organised and collaborative approach, with a genuine desire to improve the IT environment and support the wider team.
