We’re seeking an experienced and motivated Senior IT Consultant to join our Desktop Support Team, where you’ll take a leadership role in shaping and supporting desktop, mobile, and enterprise infrastructure in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
The Role
As a Senior IT Consultant, you will:
- Act as a technical subject matter expert, providing advanced 3rd-line support for complex desktop and mobile issues.
- Drive continuous improvement in device support services, including the development and implementation of cloud-based and modern endpoint management solutions.
- Shape the technical direction of the team, ensuring alignment with national standards, best practices, and evolving organisational needs.
- Collaborate with project teams, service management, and operational support to optimise service efficiency and security.
- Mentor and develop less experienced colleagues through technical guidance, knowledge sharing, and peer reviews.
This role blends technical excellence with consultancy, partnership, and leadership, offering strong career progression in an enterprise IT environment.

Technical & Operational
- Deliver 3rd-line technical support for desktop and mobile technologies, including troubleshooting complex incidents.
- Lead technical improvements and service development initiatives, ensuring alignment with modern workplace and cloud technologies.
- Manage and resolve high-complexity technical issues effectively.
- Provide technical consultancy to stakeholders, aligning solutions with organisational goals.
- Support the deployment of hybrid workplace solutions, including cloud-based and secure access models.
- Enforce and promote IT policies, standards, and best practices (e.g., security, automation, and compliance).
People & Collaboration
- Mentor junior staff, fostering growth through technical and professional development.
- Support collegial peer reviews and knowledge sharing across the team.
- Work closely with technical and project teams to improve service delivery and customer satisfaction.
Requirements & fit for the role
Essential Technical Experience
- Significant 3rd-line or senior technical support experience, preferably with enterprise-level desktop infrastructure and cloud management.
- Proven success in leading endpoint management, IT service improvement, and stakeholder engagement.
- Strong expertise in Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Intune, including:
- Windows Autopilot deployment and provisioning
- Device lifecycle management and optimisation
- Composition and compliance policies, plus managed threat detection
- Application packaging, deployment, and support
- Advanced PowerShell scripting for automation, operational improvements, and security hardening.
- Hands-on experience in packaging, deploying, and troubleshooting enterprise applications.
Soft Skills & Values Alignments

- Passion for modern workplace technologies, including Microsoft 365, cloud integration, and cybersecurity.
- Strong communication skills, able to work effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
