Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer

Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer

About World of Books

We’re the world’s largest seller of pre-loved books — a certified B Corp on a mission to become the Planet’s Bookstore. Since 2002, we’ve rehomed over 100 million books, helped millions of customers read more and waste less, and built a business that proves sustainability and commercial ambition belong together.

The Role

We’re growing fast, and we need our IT infrastructure to keep pace. We’re looking for a Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer to join our team and ensure our systems are secure, stable, and built for what’s next.

Reporting to the Senior IT Manager, you’ll be the go-to expert across our infrastructure, owning 1st, 2nd, and 3rd line support, leading complex projects, and ensuring our systems perform at the level our business demands. You’ll troubleshoot advanced hardware, software, and network issues; manage our Microsoft server environments; and collaborate with the business to deliver working infrastructure solutions.

This role focuses on project leadership—scoping, planning, and delivering end-to-end, with security best practices tested throughout. It’s for someone who think ahead, documents well, and raises the bar for IT at World of Books.

Responsibilities

1. Support & Troubleshooting

  • Provide expert 1st, 2nd, and 3rd line support, resolving infrastructure issues across the group promptly and to SLA.
  • Support end-users with Windows laptops, desktops, mobile devices, and hardware.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
