Senior IT Manager – GxP Systems & Manufacturing

Hertfordshire

We're supporting a leading global pharmaceutical manufacturer in the search for a Senior IT Manager – GxP Systems & Manufacturing to join its manufacturing leadership team.

This is a highly visible leadership position sitting at the intersection of IT, manufacturing, quality, compliance, and business strategy. You'll be responsible for the performance, resilience, and strategic direction of all GxP-regulated business systems and IT services supporting a major pharmaceutical manufacturing site.

Working closely with senior business leaders, you'll ensure critical manufacturing systems remain compliant, secure, and available, while driving digital transformation and continuous improvement initiatives that support operational excellence and uninterrupted patient supply.

The Role

As the senior technology leader for the manufacturing site, you will:

  • Lead the strategy, governance, and operational performance of all GxP-regulated IT services and business systems.
  • Act as the key interface between IT and Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, and other business functions.
  • Ensure the availability, resilience, compliance, and continuous improvement of business-critical manufacturing systems.
  • Drive digital transformation and data-led initiatives that improve operational efficiency and business performance.
  • Oversee GxP system validation, change control, data integrity, and regulatory compliance.
  • Lead infrastructure, application, and service management activities to minimise operational risk and maximise system availability.
  • Manage and develop high-performing internal teams and third-party suppliers, creating a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and implement IT governance, service management, and capability improvement strategies.
  • Partner with senior stakeholders to align technology roadmaps with business priorities and long-term manufacturing objectives.
  • Ensure robust disaster recovery, business continuity, and cyber security practices are maintained across the manufacturing environment.
  • Drive service excellence through effective KPI management, vendor governance, and continual service improvement.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
