Senior IT Procurement Manager - 6-12 month FTC

About the role The Coventry Building Society’s Procurement Function ensures goods and services are sourced effectively, delivering value for money while managing risk.

This role sits within the Technology Procurement team, leading commercial strategies across IT spend. It is responsible for driving competitive advantage through strong category expertise across Software, Hardware, Telco, Infrastructure and customer platforms, using market insights to unlock value and innovation.

We’re looking for a MCIPS-Qualified professional to lead category strategy development and complex, high-value procurements, including sourcing strategy, RFx processes, and contract negotiation across multiple suppliers. Building strong stakeholder relationships across IT and the wider Group is central to this role, as is supporting team capability through coaching, and ensuring third-party risk is managed in line with the Group’s framework.

We operate on a team led hybrid approach with at least 1 day a week in the Coventry & / or Manchester office. Regular travel across both sites will be required to be with stakeholders.

About you You’ll be an experienced IT Procurement professional with strong commercial acumen, able to influence senior stakeholders and drive value creation in a complex environment. You’ll be a strong communicator, highly organised, and resilient, with a collaborative approach and focus on delivering value and continuous improvement. For this role you’ll need to have: Degree or MCIPS Qualification (or equivalent) Strong demonstrable experience in IT Procurement delivering complex, high-value procurements within a regulated environment. Strategic Category Management experience within indirect procurement categories. Expertise across Software, Hardware, Telco and Infrastructure Strong negotiation, RFx, and contract drafting skills Excellent stakeholder management up to Executive level An aptitude to stay up to date with market drivers and activity, bringing unique opportunity insights through external networks and independent research. Strong analytical and decision-making capability Experience in these areas would be helpful: Financial Services Procurement Sourcing OEM and reseller requirements. TCO and cost optimisation approaches Supplier benchmarking and performance management Coaching or mentoring colleagues
