Senior Project/Programme Manager
About the Role
As a Senior Project/Programme Manager, you will lead the delivery of large, complex IT and technology projects and programmes for our public sector and other clients. You will be responsible for managing high-visibility deliveries across the full project lifecycle (from initiation to end-to-end implementation), ensuring successful outcomes in dynamic, multi-supplier and matrix environments.
You will:
- Provide strong leadership to multi-discipline and multi-supplier teams
- Foster a collaborative, high-performing culture
- Engage with senior stakeholders to deliver value and drive continuous improvement
Working Arrangements
Hybrid working: Your work location will vary depending on business demands and project needs, combining Company offices, client sites, and home (though remote work will not always be 100% possible).

Key Responsibilities
- Lead large, complex IT/technology projects and programmes from initiation to end-to-end delivery, ensuring alignment with scope, quality, time, and budget.
- Provide strong leadership to multi-disciplinary teams, ensuring high performance in matrix and multi-supplier environments.
- Develop and maintain project/programme schedules, establish delivery rhythms, and manage risks and dependencies proactively to remove blockers.
- Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships (including with senior executives) to ensure alignment, transparency, and successful delivery.
- Drive continuous improvement and operational efficiency through agile methodologies and lessons-learned feedback loops.
- Managing projects within budget, ensuring accurate forecasting, value realisation, and effective change control.
- Demonstrate commercial acumen—developing proposals, negotiating contracts (e.g., Time & Materials, Fixed-Price), and structuring deals efficiently.
- Provide clear data-driven reporting to support stakeholder communication and decision-making.
- Ensure deliverables meet quality standards at each stage, on time.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive work culture that supports professional growth and innovation.

Required Skills & Experience
Essential Criteria
✅ Proven senior-level experience in IT/technology project and programme management, particularly in large, complex environments. ✅ Full-lifecycle project management skills—from initiation through to end-to-end delivery. ✅ Deep understanding of agile methodologies, project lifecycle frameworks, and experience in matrix/multi-supplier team settings. ✅ Exceptional stakeholder management skills, including experience engaging with senior leadership, business sponsors, and cross-functional teams. ✅ Strong leadership ability to motivate, mentor, and guide teams in high-pressure environments. ✅ Budget and financial accountability—forecasting, value delivery, and change control expertise. ✅ Rigorous risk management skills, including identifying, assessing, and mitigating project risks. ✅ Robust planning and scheduling abilities, with a track record of delivering against organisational objectives.
