Senior IT Services Manager, UNISON

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Technology and Project Lead to drive development and implementation of change in line with UNISON’s strategic needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational management of UNISON’s IT infrastructure, demonstrating strong expertise in networking, cloud computing, and communications technology.
- Collaborating closely with our managed service provider and external suppliers to optimise technological support for UNISON’s operations.
- Deep understanding of the Microsoft environment, focusing on processes and workforce training to harness transformation opportunities.
- Gaining insights into trade union, not-for-profit, and values-driven organisational contexts, while balancing delivery challenges with member-centric goals.

Project Leadership
- Interacting with non-technical departments across national office and regional locations.
- Communicating complex technical issues effectively to diverse audiences to secure buy-in for proposed solutions.
- Leading projects from inception to successful delivery, ensuring on-time completion and adherence to budgetary constraints.
Key Requirements
- Proven experience in IT infrastructure management with a focus on networking, cloud computing, and Microsoft technology.
- Strong ability to articulate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- A background in project management or similar experience in driving business transformation.
- An awareness of sector-specific challenges in trade unions or not-for-profit organisations.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and persuasion skills to champion proposals.
