The Details

Job Title: Senior IT Technician
Salary: PO3 (£47,260 - £50,675)
Contract: Permanent
Location: Across all current and future Trust sites (Full UK Driving License required)

The Role

As our Senior IT Technician, you will be the bridge between technical excellence and operational success. You will lead a small, internal IT team and act as the primary liaison for our external IT service provider SLA. You will handle complex ticket escalations, mentor junior staff, and play a pivotal role in delivering strategic IT projects, such as supporting our 1:1 Chromebook programme.

What you will bring:

  • Extensive experience in a technical support role, ideally in a senior or supervisory capacity.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Google Admin Console and managing a large-scale ChromeOS/Chromebook estate.
  • Proven experience managing network infrastructure (WiFi, LAN, Filtering, and Firewall) and overseeing Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • The ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical staff and pupils in a clear, patient manner.
  • 5 GCSEs (grades 9-5/A*-C) including English and maths, alongside a Level 4/5 IT qualification (or equivalent industry experience).
  • A proactive, "can-do" attitude and a deep understanding of Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSiE) technical requirements for safeguarding.
