Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Java Full Stack Developer to join our engineering team, delivering modern, scalable solutions within a banking and financial services environment. The successful candidate will have strong expertise across backend and frontend technologies, with a focus on Java-based distributed systems, cloud-native development, and FX platform modernisation initiatives.
You will play a key role in designing, developing, and delivering high-quality solutions using Java 21, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, ReactJS, and Microsoft Azure, supporting the transformation and modernisation of critical financial platforms. This role will involve working on complex, high-performance systems and contributing to the evolution of next-generation foreign exchange (FX) technology solutions.

Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable applications using Java 21, Spring Boot, and Spring Cloud.
- Build modern, responsive user interfaces using ReactJS and contemporary frontend development practices.
- Develop and integrate RESTful APIs and microservices-based solutions.
- Design and support distributed systems using event-driven architectures.
- Work with messaging technologies including Kafka and JMS.
- Deploy and manage applications within Microsoft Azure cloud environments.
- Support automated delivery pipelines through CI/CD practices and DevOps tooling.
- Apply strong engineering principles including Test Driven Development (TDD), JUnit testing, code quality standards, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with architects, product owners, business stakeholders, and engineering teams to deliver reliable solutions.
- Contribute to FX modernisation programmes, helping transform legacy platforms into scalable, cloud-enabled, modern architectures.

- Extensive commercial experience as a Senior Java Developer / Full Stack Engineer.
- Strong hands-on experience with:
- Java 21
- Spring Boot
- Spring Cloud
- ReactJS
- REST APIs
- Microservices architectures
- Distributed systems
- Experience developing and supporting event-driven architectures using:
- Apache Kafka
- JMS messaging
- Proven experience with Azure cloud deployments and CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong understanding of software engineering best practices including:
- TDD
- JUnit
- Automated testing
- Clean code principles
- Agile delivery methodologies
- Experience working within banking, financial services, or other highly regulated environments.
Desirable Experience
- Previous experience working on FX platforms, trading systems, or financial markets technology.
- Experience contributing to FX modernisation and digital transformation initiatives.
- Experience migrating or transforming legacy applications into modern cloud-native architectures.
- Familiarity with enterprise-scale systems and high-volume transaction processing.
