Senior Key Account Manager

Senior Key Account Manager (Hertfordshire)

We're looking for an ambitious and commercially focused Senior Key Account Manager to join an established UK manufacturer in Hertfordshire, driving growth within the industrial and technical products sector.

Key Objectives

As Senior Key Account Manager, you will:

  • Retain and grow a portfolio of high-value customer accounts
  • Identify revenue-opening opportunities to enhance retention, profitability, and engagement
  • Build trust with senior decision-makers and align strategic account needs with internal support teams
  • Maintain an excellent customer service standard, ensuring seamless delivery across operational functions

Key Responsibilities

  • Portfolio Management & Growth Strategy

    • Develop structured account plans to increase client value and retention
    • Conduct regular reviews, face-to-face meetings, and stakeholder engagement
  • Stakeholder & Relationship Building

    • Collaborate with procurement, engineering, and operational teams
    • Drive commercial deals through pricing negotiations and strategic agreements
  • Revenue & Partnership Development

    • Identify opportunities to cross-sell, upsell, and expand customer spend
    • Monitor market trends to anticipate and act on emerging opportunities
  • Cross-Functional Coordination

    • Work closely with internal teams to ensure top-tier service delivery
    • Contribute to continual customer satisfaction and operational efficiency

Requirements

  • Faultless Experience in Key Account Management, Business Development, or Strategic Sales, particularly within technical or industrial sectors (including construction, engineering, manufacturing, infrastructure, etc.)
  • A proven ability to develop long-lasting customer relationships, grow account value, and deliver measurable commercial growth
  • Large portfolio experience – ideally managing high-value strategic accounts with high profit margins
  • Strong negotiation, consultative selling, and analytical skills
  • Recognised leadership ability and a collaborative mindset

  • Performance Bonus: OTE £60,000–£65,000
