Senior Kotlin Engineer - Remote - Outside IR-35

We're working with an exciting product business looking for a Senior Kotlin Engineer to join on an initial 6-month contract.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work on complex software powering connected products and real-world systems. You'll collaborate closely with Product and Engineering teams, helping to design and deliver scalable, high-quality solutions while influencing technical direction.

Essential Skills

  • Strong commercial experience with Kotlin.
  • Experience building complex backend systems or business-critical applications.
  • Experience working with embedded systems, constrained hardware, IoT, BLE, NFC or similar connected technologies.
  • Strong understanding of software architecture and engineering best practices.
  • Product-focused mindset with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable working in a collaborative Agile environment.

Nice to Have

  • Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP).
  • JVM backend frameworks (e.g. Ktor, Spring Boot).
  • Experience building SDKs or shared libraries.
  • CI/CD and automated testing.

Contract Details

  • Duration: 6 Months
  • Location: Remote (UK)
  • Outside IR35
  • Rate: Up to £550 per day
