Labor & Employee Relations Specialist – Remote Role (Europe)

Our companies collaborate with 50+ works councils, and we are expanding our global Labor & Employee Relations (LER) function, supported by a Center of Excellence (LER COE) model for consistent, scalable support.
About the Role
The Labor & Employee Relations Specialist is responsible for delivering employee relations support across Europe, handling routine and moderately complex cases with professional judgment and operational independence. This fully remote role reports to the Team Lead – Senior Labour and Employee Relations.
In This Role
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Own and manage employee relations cases end-to-end, covering:
- Investigations
- Performance management matters
- Workplace concerns
- Employee separations
- Apply professional judgment to assess situations, determine appropriate actions, and ensure alignment with:
- Company policy
- Local legislation
- Best practices
- Handle routine and moderately complex cases independently, escalating high-risk or highly sensitive matters as needed
- Collaborate with HR Business Partners (HRBPs) and HR teams to provide clear, pragmatic guidance on employee relations, balancing consistency with local context
- Lead or support workplace investigations—including planning, fact-finding, analysis, and outcomes documentation
- Identify themes, risks, and trends in casework and offer practical recommendations to enhance consistency and effectiveness
- Contribute to the development, standardisation, and continuous improvement of ER processes and tools across the LER COE
- Support engagement with employee representative bodies (e.g. works councils/unions), including readiness for consultation processes
- Build strong working relationships with stakeholders to enable timely resolutions and maintain a positive employee experience

Essential Requirements
- University degree in:
- Law
- Human Resources
- Business
- or a related field
- 3–5 years’ experience in:
- Employee relations
- HR
- or a related field
- Detailed understanding of:
- UK (and ideally European) employment law
- Experience working with employee representative bodies (e.g. works councils/unions)
- Experience in matrix or multinational organisations
- Proven ability to:
- Manage employee relations cases (investigations, performance-related matters)
- Adopt a proactive problem-solving approach and drive continuous improvement
- Exercise independent judgment while prioritising and organising multiple cases
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
