Labor & Employee Relations Specialist (Wholly Remote, Europe-Based)

About Danaher & The Role

Danaher operates within a matrixed and decentralized structure, with a strong presence across Europe. Our companies partner with 50+ works councils to ensure employee relationships are strong and effective.

We are continuing to build our global Labor & Employee Relations (LER) function, supported by a Center of Excellence (LER COE) model. This ensures consistent, scalable LER support across the business.

This fully remote role sits within Danaher Corporate HR Labor & Employee Relations Europe, reporting to the Team Lead – Senior Labour and Employee Relations. As a Labor & Employee Relations Specialist, you will:


Key Responsibilities

  • Own and manage employee relations cases end-to-end, including:
    • Investigations
    • Performance management matters
    • Workplace concerns
    • Employee separations

  • Apply judgment and best practice when assessing situations and determining actions, ensuring alignment with company policy, local legislation, and European standards.

  • Handle routine and moderately complex cases independently, escalating higher-risk or highly sensitive matters as needed.

  • Partner with HR Business Partners (HRBPs) to provide clear, pragmatic guidance on employee relations matters, balancing consistency with local context.

  • Lead or support workplace investigations, including:

    • Planning, fact-finding
    • Analysis
    • Documentation of outcomes
  • Identify themes, risks, and trends from casework and provide practical recommendations to improve consistency and effectiveness.

  • Contribute to the development, standardisation, and continuous improvement of global ER processes and tools within the COE.

  • Support engagement with employee representative bodies (e.g., works councils/unions), including preparation for information and consultation discussions.

  • Build strong stakeholder relationships to drive timely resolution and maintain a positive employee experience.


Essential Requirements

✔ University degree in:

  • Law
  • Human Resources
  • Business
  • Or a related field

✔ 3–5 years’ experience in:

  • Employee relations
  • HR
  • Or a related field

✔ Working knowledge of:

  • UK (and preferably European) employment law
  • Employee representative bodies (e.g., works councils/unions)
  • Experience in a matrix or multinational organisation

✔ Proven experience in:

  • Managing employee relations cases (investigations, performance matters)
  • Proactive problem-solving & continuous improvement

✔ Ability to:

  • Apply judgment independently within defined guidelines
  • Effectively prioritise and organise multiple cases simultaneously

✔ Strong communication & stakeholder management skills


Nice-to-Haves

✅ European language skills (a strong advantage) ✅ Previous experience in matrixed/organisational transition settings
