Labor & Employee Relations Specialist – Europe

Focusing on Labor & Employee Relations (LER), we’re expanding our Center of Excellence (LER COE) model to create a robust, cohesive platform across Europe. This fully remote role in Danaher Corporate HR is yours to shape—balancing independence, collaboration, and impact.
About the Role
This position is part of our Danaher Corporate HR Labor & Employee Relations Europe team, covering routine to moderately complex cases. You’ll work autonomously while contributing to strategic improvements in workplace relations and compliance.
Key Responsibilities

Manage Employee Relations Cases
- Lead end-to-end ownership of cases including investigations, workplace concerns, performance management issues, and employee separations (within defined scope).
- Apply professional judgment to evaluate situations, determine appropriate actions, and align outcomes with company policy, local legislation, and best practice.

Investigate & Resolve
- Independently handle routine to moderately complex cases, escalating only high-risk or highly sensitive matters as required.
- Support or lead workplace investigations—planning, gathering evidence, analysing findings, and documenting conclusions.

Collaborate & Provide Guidance
- Partner with HR Business Partners (HRBPs) and regional HR teams to deliver consistent, localised support tailored to operational realities.
- act as an advisor balancing policy consistency with regional nuances.

Drive Consistency & Improvement
- Identify recurring themes, risks, and trends across employee relations and provide practical recommendations to enhance processes.
- Contribute to standardisation and refinement of ER tools and frameworks within the LER COE.

Engage with Employee Representatives
- Support interactions with works councils and unions for information and consultation processes while maintaining alignment in communication.

Build Relationships & Foster Engagement
- Develop and maintain effective connections with stakeholders to ensure timely resolutions.
- Advocate for a positive employee experience while addressing concerns constructively.
Essential Requirements
- Degree in Law, Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of hands-on experience in employee relations, HR, or a comparable function.
- Working knowledge of UK (and ideally EU) employment law, including familiarity with works councils or unions and experience in multinational or matrixed organisations.
- Proven track record in managing employee relations cases, including investigations, adversarial scenarios, or performance-related disputes.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, with an appenity for proactive solutions and documented improvements.
- Demonstrated capability to:
- Work independently within guidelines while prioritising complex workloads.
- Balance emotional intelligence with firm decision-making.
- Communicate clear, actionable advice to diverse stakeholders.

Strong Bonus Attributes
- Proficiency in European languages (depending on assigned region).
- Relevant certifications in HR, employment law, or-ufler relations (e.g., SHRM, CIPD).
Travel, Motor Vehicle & Physical Requirements
◦ Travel: 15–20% of the time, as needed.
