About AACE
AACE is a Bristol-based, family-owned engineering consultancy supporting the UK Defence sector. We provide safety, environmental, engineering, and technical consultancy services across a broad range of programmes and platforms. As our Land capability continues to grow, we are looking for experienced safety engineers to help deliver high-quality support to our customers and contribute to the development of our team.
The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Land Safety Engineer to join our growing Land Safety Team.
This role is ideally suited to an experienced safety engineer who can take ownership of delivery, work independently with customers, and provide pragmatic safety advice across a range of defence projects. You will support safety case development, hazard management, safety governance, and wider safety assurance activities throughout the equipment lifecycle.
Whilst this role sits within AACE's Land Safety Team, we welcome applications from candidates with experience from Land, Maritime, Air, Weapons, or other defence-related safety-critical domains. We recognise that strong safety engineering principles are transferable across domains, and we value individuals who can apply structured safety thinking to complex engineering challenges.
Working within a growing SME consultancy, you will have the opportunity to work directly with MOD and industry stakeholders, support business development activities, help shape delivery approaches, and play a key role in developing the next generation of safety engineers.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
