Role Purpose
The Senior Land Surveyor provides land assembly, compensation and valuation advice for major projects. Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering strategic compensation advice
- Mitigating risks in land acquisition
- Securing consents, settling claims, and negotiating agreements
Key Responsibilities
- Trusted Advisor: Offer specialist technical input, particularly around compensation and compulsory purchase legislation.
- Project Management: Lead and manage projects, ensuring efficient and compliant resolution of claims and land acquisition.
- Negotiations: Conduct and lead negotiations with landowners, clients, and stakeholders to facilitate land acquisition and settle compensation claims.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain high standards of engagement and provide strategic advice, fostering strong relationships.
- Valuation Accuracy: Ensure accurate management of valuations and Property Cost Estimates.
- Mentorship: Guide and mentor junior team members, fostering their development and aligning them with Ardentās values.
- Compliance: Maintain compliance with relevant regulations and standards, ensuring best practices are followed.
- Business Development: Identify potential leads and new work opportunities to contribute to business growth.
- Safety Promotion: Advocate for safety improvements within teams, promoting a culture of safety.
- Profitability Assessment: Assess and improve profitability by managing costs and resources efficiently.

Skills & Experience
Essential:
- Proven ability to build effective working relationships with clients and stakeholders (internal and external).
- Awareness and adherence to RICS Professional Statements and relevant guidelines.
- Experience in project management to ensure effective and confident oversight.
- Understanding of legal basis of compulsory purchase compensation and its application.
- Track record in leading negotiations and settling compensation claims.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to deliver informative and engaging presentations.
- Ability to identify and mitigate risks, providing strategic solutions to complex challenges.
- Experience in mentoring and developing junior team members.
- Ability to identify new business opportunities and enhance project profitability.
- Commitment to promoting a culture of safety.
