About The Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and forward-thinking Senior Landscape Officer to join our multi-disciplinary Conservation, Design and Landscape team, which is dedicated to protecting North Norfolk’s distinctive natural and built environments. The District is proud to include the internationally celebrated North Norfolk Coast, stretching from Holkham in the west to Horsey in the east, much of which is recognised for its nature conservation importance.

A large proportion of the District lies within the Norfolk Coast National Landscape and the North Norfolk Heritage Coast, while the eastern part of the District forms part of the Broads National Park. The District also hosts a variety of internationally and nationally designated sites and nature reserves, home to many rare and protected species and habitats.

About You

You should have extensive understanding of the planning system, wildlife legislation and ecological assessments, and be competent in the assessment of the broad range of landscape and ecological issues pertaining to planning. You will be responsible for providing timely expert biodiversity and ecological advice to the Council and its stakeholders.

A talented communicator, you will be able to assess surveys, metrics, reports and issues relating to individual planning applications and effectively present complex information to different audiences using a range of mediums, including the preparation and presentation of detailed reports.

You will play a key role in contributing to the Council’s Biodiversity Duty Report and to the North Norfolk Local Plan in relation to biodiversity and ecology. Using your specialist knowledge, you will prepare supplementary guidance, policy statements and development briefs as required and represent the Council at Committees and on external bodies and partnerships.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
