Senior Lateral Recruitment Coordinator

We are working with a leading international law firm that is looking to appoint a Senior Lateral Recruitment Coordinator to join its growing London Legal Recruitment team.

This is a newly created position arising from significant growth across the London office and a considerable increase in lateral hiring activity.

The successful person will take a leading role in managing lateral associate recruitment across the London office and will act as a central point of contact for partners, candidates, recruitment agencies and internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Holding initial intake meetings with partners and hiring managers
  • Clarifying recruitment requirements
  • Advising on search strategy
  • Briefing agencies
  • Managing applications
  • Coordinating interviews
  • Supporting candidate screening
  • Maintaining clear communication throughout the process

You will work closely with partners and senior stakeholders across the firm, providing regular updates on live searches, market conditions, candidate availability and potential recruitment challenges.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

You will also act as the principal point of contact for external recruitment agencies, ensuring that searches are properly briefed, submissions are relevant and processes are managed effectively from initial instruction through to offer and onboarding.

The successful person will report directly to the Manager of Legal Recruiting and will work alongside colleagues focused on lateral partner recruitment, graduate recruitment and professional resources.

Direct experience of lateral associate recruitment would be particularly valuable.

You should be confident speaking with partners and senior stakeholders, capable of managing a high volume of live vacancies and comfortable taking ownership of multiple recruitment processes at the same time.

Excellent organisation, communication and stakeholder-management skills are essential, together with the judgement to manage expectations, prioritise urgent searches and maintain momentum across a busy workload.

This opportunity would suit an experienced legal recruiter who is ready to move into a more visible, high-ownership role within an ambitious international firm.
