About the Role
An exciting opportunity has become available for a Senior Launch Engineer (Die Design and Coating) within our Product Management Office (PMO) team.
Reporting to the Head of Launch Integration, this role focuses on providing launch and ramp-up technical support for multiple manufacturing processes within our Electrode area.
Key Responsibilities
The Senior Launch Engineer will:

Support Global Manufacturing Engineering by defining robust, scalable processes to ensure:
- Die performance
- Coating accuracy
- Coating stability
- High-yield production at takt

Act as the technical escalation point during new line launches, collaborating with:
- Equipment suppliers
- Manufacturing teams
- Quality specialists
- Assembly teams

Stabilise operations from pilot phase through to SOP ramp-up.

The role ensures stable, high-quality coating performance during factory launch and ramp-up.

- Streaking
- Edge defects
- Coating instability

- Process windows to meet requirements for:

- Adhesion quality
- Downstream assembly performance

Who You Are
Requirements
To excel in this role, you should bring:
- Deep, hands-on experience in lithium-ion battery electrode processes
- Proven expertise and understanding of:
- Electrode coating processes
- Die design principles
- Experience supporting:
- Pilot lines
- New production launches
- High-volume manufacturing ramps
- Proficiency in:
- yield improvement methodologies
- Statistical Process Control (SPC)
- Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA)
- Design of Experiments (DOE)
- Root Cause Corrective Actions (RCCA)
- Experience in:
- Launching new battery production lines or gigafactories (desirable)
- Direct experience with:
- Automotive NMC cells in prismatic format (desirable)
Qualifications
- Degree in:
- Chemical Engineering
- Materials Science
- Chemistry (or relevant fields)
