Senior Lead Architect - Securities Services

Senior Lead Solution Architect

Securities Services Engineering & Architecture Team JPMorgan Chase – Commercial & Investment Bank

About the Role

As a Senior Lead Solution Architect at JPMorgan Chase, you will lead a cross-functional agile team tasked with designing, assessing, and delivering high-quality solution architectures for platforms supporting the Securities Services businesses within the Commercial & Investment Bank. Your role encompasses three key disciplines:

  • Functional Architecture
  • Information Architecture
  • Technical Architecture

You will engage across multiple concurrent work streams to accelerate development, improve solution quality, and ensure alignment with firm-wide architecture patterns and standards.


Job Responsibilities

  • Drive stakeholder collaboration – Work closely with Business Operations, Product Management, and Technology stakeholders to ensure business requirements are accurately articulated, understood, and realized as secure, robust solutions.

  • Design and evaluate end-to-end architectures – Develop enterprise-scale platform solutions, including:

    • Data modeling, meta-modeling
    • Master and reference data management
    • Data quality & metadata management
    • Data taxonomy, integration & migration
  • Leverage AI for architecture improvements – Apply AI tools and techniques to streamline processes such as:

    • Requirements analysis
    • Pattern identification
    • Data modeling
    • Architecture documentation
  • Enforce architecture standards – Ensure adherence to firm-wide, CIB, and sub-Line of Business (sub-LOB) patterns by participating in architecture governance bodies.

  • Assess external vendors & partners – Lead evaluation sessions to assess architectural designs, technical credibility, and system integration viability.

  • Optimize operational resilience – Identify opportunities to eliminate or automate recurring issues for higher solution stability and quality.

  • Advocate for Solution Architecture – Champion the value of enterprise architecture through presentations, workshops, and agile development forums.

  • Integrate enterprise AI capabilities safely –

    • Utilize AI within the work environment to accelerate architecture analysis and decision-making.
    • Ensure human-in-the-loop validation and appropriate data sensitivity handling.
  • Establish reuse-first AI engineering practices – Promote AI-enabled engineering patterns across the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and toolchain, ensuring:

    • Traceability & auditability
    • Resiliency & security controls

Required Qualifications, Capabilities & Skills

  • Education & certification – Formal training or certification in software engineering or architecture, backed by applied experience.

  • Enterprise-scale Solution Architecture experience, including:

    • Functional, information, and technical dimensions
    • Hands-on expertise in data modeling & meta-modeling (e.g., UML, ERwin, Power Designer, MagicDraw)
  • Data architecture knowledge, covering:

    • ODS, Data Lake, Data Catalog (DCAT), Data Warehousing, OLTP, OLAP
    • Data as a technology asset management
  • Core Solution Architecture skills in:

    • Master & Reference Data Management
    • Data Quality, Metadata Management, Data Taxonomy
    • Data Integration & Migration
  • Proficient in AI/machine learning applied to architecture – Experience automating architecture-related tasks.

  • Technical proficiency in:

    • Object-oriented development (Java, Python, C++)
    • Data formats (XML, JSON)
    • Database management (SQL, Oracle, Cassandra, Public Cloud platforms)
  • Financial services domain expertise – Strong understanding of:

    • Trading Middle Office, Prime Brokerage, Custody
    • Fund Accounting, Securities & Derivatives (both buy-side & sell-side)
  • Agile & DevOps experience – Background in lean/agile frameworks, continuous integration (CI), and continuous delivery (CD).

  • Communication & facilitation skills – Ability to articulate complex concepts clearly across diverse stakeholders via:

    • Presentations, documents, workshops, agile meetings
  • Experience with enterprise AI in architecture workflows – Knowledge of data sensitivity, validation practices, and governance.


Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities & Skills

  • Public Cloud expertise – Significant experience with AWS architecture design (preferably with a Cloud certifications).

  • Microservices & SOA experience – Knowledge of:

    • Microservice development
    • Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA)
    • N-Tier Architecture
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC) familiarity – Experience with secure application & software design practices.

  • Cyber Security awareness – Working knowledge of:

    • Authentication & authorization standards

  • UML experience – Exposure to UML-based modeling techniques.
