About the Role

The Senior Lead Child Protection Practitioner (Senior LCPP) provides senior operational and strategic leadership across all Lead Child Protection Practitioners (LCPPs) within the Multi-Agency Child Protection Team (MACPT). This pivotal role ensures:

  • Consistently high standards of statutory safeguarding practice
  • Robust threshold decision-making
  • Cross-system alignment with local and national safeguarding expectations

As a leader within this crucial post, you will sit at the intersection of operational practice and safeguarding governance, driving continuous improvement and fostering a culture of high-support and high-challenge at every level.

  • Overseeing, coordinating, and quality assuring the work of all LCPPs, ensuring:

    • Consistency in practice
    • Strong reflective practice across teams
    • A multi-agency approach aligned to Telford & Wrekin’s Families First / Family Help reforms
  • Leading complex and high-risk child protection decision-making, ensuring compliance with:

    • The Children Act 1989
    • Working Together to Safeguard Children
  • Acting as a key bridge between:

    • Operational practice and senior safeguarding governance
    • Strategic decision-making and frontline lived experiences
  • Ensuring that statutory child protection duties are consistently met, with close alignment to national safeguarding priorities.


Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: £55,413 – £58,618 (including market factor)
