Senior Lead Driver Assessor
Supermarket Assistant (Senior Lead Driver Assessor)
About the Role As a Supermarket Assistant (Senior Lead Driver Assessor), you'll collaborate with the wider shop team to deliver our world-class customer service. You’ll also manage the e-commerce operation across your branch and drive operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
E-Commerce Operation Leadership
- Ensure the e-commerce picking process is running smoothly and efficiently.
- Identify areas for improvement and implement changes in collaboration with the management team.
- Lead team training and coaching, including:
- Assessing and maintaining high driving standards to uphold the Waitrose Brand.
- Supporting the interviewing and assessment process for new drivers to evaluate their driving competency.
- Be the ambassador of excellent customer service, setting an example for your team.
Shop Operations Support
- Stock replenishment: Keep shelves fully stocked and organised for customers.
- Online order fulfilment: Prepare deliveries for drivers to fulfil direct-to-door or Click & Collect orders.
- Waste reduction: Apply proper product due diligence and manage markdowns for dated items.
- Assist the wider shop team with:
- Checkout operations
- Processing on-demand customer orders
- Resolving Click & Collect discrepancies
- Maintain a safe, tidy, and efficient working environment by handling general shopkeeping tasks.

Essential Requirements
- A full UK-driving licence (B/Category), manually-check-passed with no endorsements.
- Strong customer service skills aligned with our standards.
- Comfortable in leading, training, and mentoring drivers.
- Time management and strong record-keeping skills.
- Ability to work independently, be self-motivated, and adapt to change.
- No record of blameworthy collisions in the past two years.
Desirable Assets
- Previous experience in a driving role, especially with chilled vehicle knowledge.
