About the Role

We are seeking a hands-on Senior Lead Oracle Fusion Cloud Integration & Extension Consultant with strong Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC) expertise and proven experience delivering integrations across Oracle Fusion Cloud and wider enterprise systems.

This client-facing technical leadership role focuses on Oracle Integration Cloud delivery, expectations include leading integration design, reusable interface patterns, technical governance, and hands-on delivery from build through to deployment, testing, and defect resolution.

Key exposure areas:

  • Oracle Fusion extensions with VBCS (Visual Builder Cloud Service)
  • Oracle Process Automation (OPA)/Process Cloud Service (PCS)

Ideal candidates will have junior-level familiarity with these tools or quickly learn and contribute to extension and automation work.


Responsibilities

OIC Integration Architecture & Delivery

  • Lead end-to-end design, build, and delivery of integrations between Oracle Fusion Cloud and external enterprise systems using Oracle Integration Cloud.
  • Define reusable integration patterns for synchronous APIs, asynchronous orchestrations, scheduled processing, event-based flows, and file-based interfaces.
  • Produce and maintain integration design artefacts, including:
    • Interface catalogues
    • Mapping specifications
    • Transformation rules
    • Error-handling designs
    • Deployment notes
    • Operational support documentation
  • Build and optimise integrations using:
    • App-driven orchestrations
    • Scheduled integrations and bulk processing
    • REST/SOAP services
    • SFTP/file-based interfaces
    • Oracle Fusion adapters and enterprise application adapters (where applicable)
    • JSON, XML, XPath, XSLT, and schema-based transformations
  • Implement robust error handling, replay, recovery, and operational support strategies for:
    • Technical failures
    • Business validation failures
    • Rejected records
    • Downstream availability issues
  • Optimise high-volume integrations through:
    • Batching, pagination, payload optimisation, and parallel processing
    • Appropriate use of asynchronous processing
  • Implement secure integration patterns, including:
    • OAuth2 authentication
    • Certificates and encryption (PGP, secure FTP)
    • Allow-listed connectivity and OIC Connectivity Agents
  • Support environment configuration, deployment sequencing, and release readiness for OIC artefacts.

Fusion Interface & Data Alignment

  • Collaborate with Fusion functional and data migration teams to validate:
    • Source/target objects
    • Interface ownership
    • Business rules
    • Error handling & reconciliation requirements
  • Design Fusion-to-OIC integrations for ERP/HCM/EPM interfaces:
    • REST/SOAP APIs
    • FBDI (Fusion Batch Data Integration)
    • HDL (Hierarchical Data Loading)
    • BICC extracts
    • BI Publisher outputs
    • Scheduled ESS (Embedded Spreadsheet) jobs
  • Ensure reconciliation, auditability, traceability, and reporting of integration outputs.
  • Triage defects across Fusion, OIC, and external systems, including log/payload analysis.

VBCS and OPA/PCS Support

  • Contribute to VBCS extension activities, such as:
    • UI modifications (page updates, service connections, layout changes)
    • Integrations with OIC services
  • Develop familiarity with Oracle Process Automation (OPA)/Process Cloud (PCS), with scalability to support workflow/process automation under direction.
  • Work alongside senior extension specialists for complex UI/workflow/business process designs.
  • Apply standard best practices for VBCS/OPA/PCS:
    • Role-based access
    • Usability testing
    • Configuration management
    • Change handover

Frameworks, Standards & Reusability

  • Establish and maintain reusable OIC templates, including:
    • Naming/connection standards
    • Mapping conventions
    • Deployment checklists
  • Define integration governance, including:
    • Error logging standards
    • Exception handling (replay/recovery frameworks)
  • Promote clean engineering practices:
    • Version control discipline
    • Peer code reviews
    • Structured testing and release traceability

DevOps, Testing & Release Enablement

  • Support Git-based version control for OIC development.
  • Contribute to CI/CD or automated deployment pipelines for OIC.
  • Prepare and execute:
    • Unit/SIT/UAT testing
    • Deployment rehearsals
    • Defect resolution
    • Early-life support

Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Serve as the primary technical lead for OIC integration delivery, liaising with:
    • Functional teams
    • Data/reporting/stakeholders
    • Security teams
    • External system providers
  • Mentor junior developers/enables, reviewing code quality and compliance with standards.
  • Provide technical assessments, risks, and recommendations to:
    • Solution architects
    • Delivery leads
    • Client stakeholders
  • Shape solution design, estimate effort, and manage integration work package dependencies.

Requirements

Essential Experience

✔ Strong Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC) experience in complex enterprise environments ✔ Hands-on decisions for Fusion ERP/HCM/EPM integrations, including:

  • REST/SOAP APIs
  • FBDI, HDL, BICC, BI Publisher, and ESS jobs ✔ Deep technical knowledge of:
  • RESTful APIs, XML/JSON, SOAP, XPath/XSLT
  • Payload mapping, schema validation, interface design ✔ Security-conscious integration design, including:
  • OAuth2, certificates, PGP encryption, secure FTP
  • Egress blocking and agent-based connectivity ✔ Experience building high-volume/real-time integrations, with:
  • Error handling, retry/replay mechanisms
  • Reconciliation and auditability ✔ Artifact production expertise, covering:
  • Design documents
  • Mapping specifications
  • Test evidence
  • Deployment notes ✔ Integration experience with platforms such as:
  • ServiceNow, SAP, Workday, Azure-hosted services
  • Legacy applications/third-party SaaS tools ✔ Client-facing technical leadership experience in structured delivery programmes ✔ Working in regulated environments (e.g., UK public sector) is a plus.

VBCS / OPA / PCS Expectations

⚡ Deep prior experience is not required but jency familiarity or learning agility is critical. ✔ Basic awareness of:

  • VBCS pages, service connections
  • Business objects, role-based access ⚡ Proven ability to self-educate on Oracle’s UI/automation tools.

Desirable Skills

🔹 Oracle Integration Cloud certification or equivalent delivery focus. 🔹 Exposure to Visual Builder Studio/Git repo for extension artefacts. 🔹 Oracle Analytics Cloud/Data Intelligence experience or alignment with reporting. 🔹 Cyber security frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, NCSC CAF, Cyber Essentials). 🔹 Experience mentoring junior developers across distributed teams.
