Senior Leader, Field Sales Talent Acquisition
Talent Acquisition | London
About the Team
SumUp's Field Sales hiring engine delivers close to 2,000 hires per year across 12+ European markets, and this number is expanding. The Talent Acquisition team plays a central role in SumUp’s commercial growth—translating business ambitions into strategic hiring execution across key markets. To elevate from reactive delivery to a structured, scalable hiring engine, we’re looking for a standalone leader to drive this transformation.
You’ll report directly to the Global Head of TA, with a dotted line to the CCO and VP of Sales in London, reflecting the critical importance of this role in SumUp’s commercial success.
What Success Looks Like
This role will leave a lasting impact when you:
- Transform Field Sales hiring into a reliable, measurable engine—one that is visible, trusted, and predictable across all markets
- Build a high-autonomy, high-accountability TA team where recruiters operate independently and know what success looks like
- Make Talent Acquisition a strategic commercial partner, collaborating closely with Sales and leadership to shape hiring forecasts and execution
- Create clarity from complexity—standardising tools, workflows, and standards—so recruiters in different markets align their processes and deliver consistent results
Required Attributes
You’ll thrive in this role if you:
- Have proven experience building and leading high-volume sales, GTM, or commercial Talent Acquisition functions across multiple markets, with a keen eye for optimizing hiring funnels
- Exhibit systems thinking—diagnosing root causes rather than addressing symptoms
- Are pragmatic and results-driven, capable of delivering impact without waiting for perfect conditions
- Demonstrate strong leadership by fostering team independence and measuring success by how well the team operates without direct oversight
- Operate comfortably in ambiguous environments, prioritise outcomes over personal credit, and maintain a low-ego mindset
- Communicate directly and openly, contributing efficiently across the business from the recruitment team to senior leadership
- Build and nurture collaborative relationships across functions through deliverables and strategic thinking

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
