Leader Education are recruiting experienced Senior Learning Mentors to support students in schools across Knowsley. This role focuses on mentoring pupils who require additional pastoral support to remain engaged in education.

Senior Learning Mentors play a key role in helping students build confidence, resilience and positive attitudes towards learning. Must be a driver with a full valid UK driving licence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide mentoring and pastoral support to students experiencing barriers to learning.
  • Support pupils with SEMH needs, behavioural challenges or low engagement.
  • Develop positive relationships to help students improve confidence and motivation.
  • Work with school staff to implement pastoral support plans.
  • Encourage attendance, engagement and positive behaviour.
  • Track student progress and contribute to support planning.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in mentoring, pastoral support, youth work or education.
  • Understanding of SEMH and barriers to learning.
  • Excellent communication and motivational skills.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with young people.
  • Patient, empathetic and resilient approach.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
