Senior Learning Strategy Consultant

Senior Learning Strategy Consultant – Pharmaceutical Industry

The Senior Learning Strategy Consultant serves as a strategic learning partner, leading both the design alignment and execution of high-impact learning solutions for pharmaceutical customers. This role blends content leadership, customer engagement, and selective business development support to ensure solutions are both commercially relevant and operationally effective. Acting as the Learning Strategist across projects, the role partners closely with customers to assess capability needs, align on learning approaches, and translate requirements into structured, outcome-driven solutions.

From an execution perspective, the role is accountable for writing, developing, and implementing sold solutions, overseeing delivery, and facilitating training sessions or train-the-trainer programs to ensure effective deployment and adoption.


Key Responsibilities

Learning Advisor

  • Lead Capability Needs Assessment Diagnose customer capability gaps through structured needs analysis, translating insights into clear, outcome-driven learning strategies and recommendations.

  • Design Learning Journeys & Roadmaps Develop cohesive learning pathways that define curriculum structure, modality mix, and sequencing to maximise engagement, application, and business impact.

  • Align Strategy with Customer Objectives Act as a strategic partner to customers, ensuring all learning solutions remain closely aligned to project intent, commercial goals, and performance outcomes.

  • Oversee Content Development & Quality Lead the development of high-impact, multi-modal learning solutions (e.g., digital, live, and blended formats), providing direction to writers and contributing directly to content creation where required.

  • Drive Delivery & Facilitation Excellence Facilitate learning sessions and enable customer teams through train-the-trainer approaches, ensuring confident delivery and strong learner adoption.

Business Development Contribution (Ad Hoc)

  • Support Pitch & Proposal Activity Contribute to pitch development and proposal creation as needed, partnering with business development leads to shape compelling, customer-focused solutions.

  • Identify Customer Needs & Opportunities Provide insight into emerging customer needs and potential opportunities, helping to inform solution direction and approach.

  • Collaborate Across Teams Work with Solution Design, Delivery, and senior stakeholders to contribute to opportunity discussions and ensure alignment between proposed and delivered solutions.


Essential Requirements

  • Proven experience in learning, with strong knowledge of instructional design and adult learning principles within the pharmaceutical/biotech industry (required).
  • Proven experience in developing high-quality short-, medium-, and long-form content across a range of learning formats.
  • Built trusted relationships and consistently aligns solutions to customer needs and business outcomes.
  • Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality outputs within timelines.
  • Strong ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and credibly, engaging both customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Proactive in identifying challenges and implementing practical, effective solutions in a dynamic environment.
  • Advanced PowerPoint and writing capability, with experience in consulting or training environments.
  • Willingness to travel (~10%) to support customer engagements and key delivery activities.
