Role Summary

We are seeking a Senior Lecturer to join our Adult Nursing Department, enhancing the leadership team of the BSc (Hons) Adult Nursing course. This role involves:

  • Developing, managing, and delivering undergraduate/postgraduate programmes
  • Overseeing operational administration, curriculum development, and quality management
  • Ensuring alignment with accreditation to relevant professional institutions
  • Working closely with students, internal teams, and external partners to provide efficient, compliant services in line with University priorities

Key Responsibilities

Student Learning Experience

  • Oversight of operational processes (e.g. timetabling)

Research, Enterprise, and Scholarship

  • Identifying sources of funding and projects, individually or collaboratively, for REF census activities

Managing People and Resources

  • Contributing to the overall school management team

Pastoral Support

  • Undertaking personal academic tutor role and overseeing student progression

Liaison and Networking

  • Leading and developing networks
  • Leading or participating in committees and chairing relevant discussions

Academic Administration

  • Responsible for quality assurance, external assessment, and programme accreditation

Requirements

Essential Requirements

  • Course leadership experience
  • NMC Registration in Adult Nursing
  • Teaching Qualification

Desirable Requirements

  • Experience with regular standards compliance and quality assurance for nursing programmes
  • Clinical and academic leadership, including prior line management experience
  • Research-active status or willingness to engage in enterprise and further scholarship activities
  • Experience in developing internal/external networks and partnerships
  • Senior Fellowship with the HEA
