Introduction to YSJ

York St John is an ambitious, modern university located in the historic heart of York, and there has never been a more exciting time to join us.

As one of the fastest-growing universities in the U.K. in recent years, we have a new strategy for the next decade, emphasising our commitment to widening opportunities through education and contributing our talents to create a fairer world and a more prosperous region. We are placing inspirational learning and impactful research at the centre of this strategy, recognising our academic expertise as our greatest asset.

The School

With nearly 50 years of excellence in Occupational Therapy education (established in 1977), the university is proud to be home to one of the UK’s most established and respected programmes. Occupational Therapy sits within the School of Health Sciences, a dynamic academic community offering a broad portfolio of pre-registration, accredited programmes, including Adult Nursing, Biomedical Sciences, Diagnostic Radiotherapy, Mental Health Nursing, Midwifery, Operating Department Practice, Paramedic Science, Physiotherapy and Speech and Language Therapy. This rich blend of disciplines creates a vibrant and collaborative learning environment, providing excellent opportunities for interprofessional education that reflects the person-centred and patient-focused nature of contemporary healthcare. Staff and students benefit from state-of-the-art teaching and learning facilities designed to support innovative educational approaches and simulation-based learning.

The role

We are seeking two enthusiastic and forward-thinking Occupational Therapists to join our well-established academic team within the School of Health Sciences. The postholders will play a key role in teaching, curriculum development, and academic administration within the BSc and MSc Occupational Therapy programmes, shaping the delivery of high-quality Occupational Therapy education for the next generation of practitioners.

The role requires a strong commitment to inclusive teaching, student support and continuous professional development. The successful candidate should demonstrate the ability to deliver teaching across a breadth and depth of occupational therapy topics, reflecting occupation-centred, evidence-based and person-centred care.

This is an exciting opportunity to shape curriculum development, inspire learners, and contribute to a supportive academic community committed to excellence in teaching, research, and professional practice.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
