Senior Legal Cashier - Kent
Leading Law Firm | Hybrid Working | Competitive Salary + Benefits
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Legal Cashier to join a highly regarded law firm and lead its legal cashiering function. This is a senior finance role offering a blend of hands-on cashiering responsibility, team leadership and operational oversight. You will play a key part in ensuring the smooth running of client and office account transactions, maintaining compliance and supporting continuous improvement across the finance team.
The Role
You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the cashiering team, overseeing financial transactions, reconciliations and compliance processes, while acting as a key point of contact for cashiering queries and escalations. Working closely with senior finance stakeholders, you will also help identify opportunities to improve processes, strengthen controls and support the ongoing development of the team.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support the legal cashiering team
- Oversee client and office account transactions
- Ensure accurate and timely financial processing
- Support reconciliations and financial reporting activities
- Maintain compliance with the Solicitors Accounts Rules and internal procedures
- Assist with audits, investigations and compliance-related queries
- Build strong relationships with fee earners, finance colleagues and external contacts
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy and operational controls
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Significant experience within a legal cashiering environment
- Strong knowledge of the Solicitors Accounts Rules
- Previous supervisory or team leadership experience
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- A proactive and organised approach to problem-solving
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage high transaction volumes
- Good systems knowledge, including legal finance systems and Excel
