A leading global business within the food ingredients sector is seeking a Legal Counsel to join its EMEA legal team.
Operating across international markets and complex supply chains, the organisation partners with major manufacturers, consumer brands and retailers, delivering sustainable and innovative ingredient solutions to customers worldwide.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded lawyer looking for a broad role spanning commercial contracts, sustainability-related matters, regulatory advisory work and strategic business projects within a dynamic international environment.
The Role
Working closely with senior business leaders and cross-functional teams, you will provide practical, risk-based legal advice across a wide range of commercial and corporate matters. The role offers significant exposure to senior stakeholders and the opportunity to support key business initiatives across the EMEA region.
Key responsibilities include:
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a broad range of commercial agreements with customers, suppliers and strategic partners.
- Providing commercially focused legal advice on day-to-day business operations and strategic initiatives.
- Supporting the business on sustainability-related projects, including partnerships with external organisations and advising on evolving ESG and regulatory requirements.
- Advising on marketing and external communications, particularly in relation to sustainability and environmental claims.
- Supporting corporate transactions and projects, including acquisitions, investments, joint ventures and business restructurings.
- Partnering with compliance and business teams to identify legal and regulatory risks and implement appropriate frameworks and training.
- Assisting with disputes, litigation management and engagement with external counsel where required.
- Advising stakeholders across multiple jurisdictions and collaborating with international teams on complex cross-border matters.
- Supporting innovation, product development and intellectual property-related initiatives where required.

About You
- Qualified lawyer (UK Qualified or common law qualified) with 6+ years' PQE.
- Strong experience drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements.
- Proven ability to provide pragmatic, business-focused legal advice.
- Comfortable managing varied workloads in a fast-paced international environment.
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
- Experience supporting corporate transactions, strategic projects or cross-border matters would be advantageous but not essential.
- An interest in sustainability, regulatory developments and international business operations is highly desirable.
- Friendly, warm and relationship focused and ability to come with pragmatic and commercial legal solutions to complex challenges

This is an opportunity to join a well-established global organisation in a broad legal role offering exposure to commercial, corporate, regulatory and sustainability-related matters. You'll work closely with senior stakeholders across the business, supporting high-profile projects within a collaborative and internationally focused environment.
Please note: This position is based in Holborn, Central London, with an expectation of 4 days per week in the office. Due to the urgency of the hire, the organisation is seeking candidates who are available immediately or who have a notice period of no longer than one month. Longer notice periods will not be feasible for this appointment.
