Senior Legal Counsel

Senior Legal Counsel – London | Full Time | Hybrid | Legal & Compliance

We’re seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to embed into GetGround’s legal function, delivering sharp, commercially savvy legal advice as we scale.

GetGround in a Nutshell

GetGround bridges fintech, proptech, and wealthtech, managing:

  • +ÂŁ2bn in assets across our platform
  • 30,000+ users spanning 70 countries
  • Regulated product portfolio including mortgages, property management, and investment tools

The Opportunity

As the business grows, so do its legal needs. You’ll be the curveball handler in-house:

  • Ensuring compliance during high-speed movement
  • Championing integrity, speed, and authority in every decision
  • A role for a lawyer passionate about tackling varied, exciting challenges in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

đź“‘ Commercial and Contracts

  • Draft, negotiate, and review contracts (supplier agreements, partnerships, customer terms)
  • Advise business teams on contractual risk and enable decision-speed
  • Overhaul and optimise contract templates, playbooks, and standard clauses
  • Supervise external counsel for specialised matters

⚡ Product and Regulatory

  • Support new product features, customer journeys, and platform changes with legal input
  • Navigate FCA regulatory compliance for mortgages, property tools, and wealth products
  • Assist compliance reviews for customer-facing content and regulated messaging
  • Track regulatory updates and flag implications

🏢 Corporate and General Legal

  • Support fundraising, corporate governance, and company-secretarial tasks
  • Guide on data protection, privacy, and GDPR compliance
  • Provide all-business legal advice (employment, IP, operational matters)
  • Shrink complexity—by driving scalable legal processes, templates, and training.

About You

  • Qualification & Experience: A UK solicitor with 4+ years PQE, ideally balancing private practice and in-house experience.

  • Core Skills: âś” Commercial legal minds—agile contract negotiation at lightning speed âś” Deep FCA regulatory know-how, especially in fintech/financial services

  • Mindset:

    • Curiosity for emerging law areas
    • Template-free order: balance legal analysis with practical, commercial advice
    • Confidence: thrive autonomously, manage workloads, and advise flawlessly
  • Soft Skills:

    • Crystal clarity in verbal and written communication
    • Collaborative contagion: interested in the business, not just the legal one
