Please note this role is available on a hybrid basis from either our Weybridge or Burton upon Trent office locations.

Job Profile

Our Legal team is a trusted strategic partner to the business, helping to enable growth while ensuring the highest standards of governance, compliance, and commercial excellence.

We're looking for an experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join our global Legal team, reporting directly to the General Counsel & Company Secretary. This is a high-impact role with responsibility for supporting our EU, US & ROW Business Unit, partnering closely with senior leaders to provide commercially focused legal advice that helps drive business success.

Based within our global Legal team in Weybridge or Burton (whichever location is closest), you'll lead complex commercial negotiations, advise on strategic initiatives, and play a key role in supporting Clinigen's continued international growth.

What you'll be doing

  • Lead negotiations on global distribution, commercialisation and other strategic commercial agreements.
  • Provide pragmatic, commercially focused legal advice across the EU, US & Rest of World Business Unit.
  • Draft, review and negotiate a broad range of commercial contracts with customers, suppliers and partners worldwide.
  • Partner with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to support key business initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations and industry best practice across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Support legal projects from inception through to successful completion while maintaining a best-in-class service approach.

About you

You'll be a commercially minded lawyer who enjoys working in a fast-paced, international environment and thrives on building strong relationships across the business.

You'll bring:

  • A law degree and qualification in England & Wales or another common law jurisdiction.
  • A minimum of 6 years' post-qualification experience (PQE).
  • Significant experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
  • Strong commercial judgement with the confidence to balance legal risk and business opportunity.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including experience partnering with senior leaders.
  • A proactive, pragmatic and solutions-focused approach, with exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Business-level fluency in written and spoken English.
