I'm currently recruiting for an Interim Property Solicitor to join a major infrastructure organisation on an initial 4-month contract. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced property litigation lawyer to work on a broad range of contentious property matters within a collaborative in-house legal team.
The Role
You will provide legal advice on a variety of property-related disputes while supporting key stakeholders across the business. Working alongside senior legal professionals, you'll help manage cases, minimise legal risk and contribute to the successful delivery of property projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide legal advice, under appropriate supervision, on a broad range of contentious property matters, including landlord and tenant disputes, residential, commercial and agricultural possession claims, debt recovery, valuation disputes, trespass, rights of access and title issues.
- Manage a varied caseload of property litigation matters, including developing case strategy, handling case management, negotiating settlements, managing disclosure, preparing evidence, coordinating witness statements, trial preparation and costs management.
- Advise on the use and application of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) processes and support their implementation where appropriate.
- Assist with a range of wider property-related legal matters, including acquisitions and disposals, statutory powers, utility-related issues, settlement agreements, legal notices and property compensation schemes.
- Instruct and oversee external legal advisers where required, ensuring effective management of budgets, timescales, quality of advice and overall value for money.
- Support the development, review and maintenance of legal precedents, templates and standard documentation to promote consistency, compliance and continuous improvement.
- Prepare legal advice, reports, briefings and guidance for internal stakeholders, supporting informed decision-making across the organisation.
- Conduct legal research on relevant legislation, case law and regulatory developments, ensuring advice remains current, accurate and compliant with evolving legal requirements.
- Deliver commercially focused legal advice that appropriately manages legal risk while supporting organisational objectives.
- Promote inclusive working practices and contribute to a collaborative, respectful and diverse working environment, ensuring compliance with organisational policies and values.

Iβm in my final year doing Economics and I donβt know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer β it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) donβt need a masters. Letβs look at the ones youβd be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet β that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
