Senior Legal Counsel

London | Hybrid (typically 1 day per week in the office)
£130,000 + Bonus + Outstanding Pension

An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Legal Counsel to join a highly regarded in-house legal team within a large and complex organisation.

This is a role for a commercially minded lawyer who enjoys working closely with senior stakeholders, influencing business decisions, and leading on complex commercial and technology matters.

Reporting into the senior legal leadership team and managing two lawyers, you will play a key role in supporting strategic projects across the organisation while helping to shape legal risk management and best practice.

The role offers a rare combination of high-quality legal work, leadership responsibility, and genuine flexibility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading the negotiation and drafting of complex commercial and technology agreements
  • Advising on SaaS, software, outsourcing, and procurement arrangements
  • Supporting strategic business projects and transformation initiatives
  • Advising on data privacy, governance, and risk management matters
  • Acting as a trusted adviser to senior stakeholders across the business
  • Managing and developing junior members of the legal team
  • Instructing and managing external counsel where required
  • Helping shape legal risk management and legal best practice across the organisation

About You

  • England & Wales qualified lawyer with approximately 9-12 years' PQE
  • Strong commercial contracts and technology law experience
  • Experience operating within a regulated environment would be advantageous
  • Commercially minded with excellent stakeholder management skills
  • Able to balance legal risk with practical business objectives
  • Previous mentoring, supervisory, or leadership experience
  • Looking for a role with greater visibility, influence, and people management responsibility
