About the Role
We seek a mid-to-senior level lawyer to join our Governance team, based in our Bristol office with a hybrid working arrangement. Alternative locations or fully remote working may be considered for the right candidate.
This role will report to the Head of Legal within a collaborative team known for its problem-solving expertise in a supportive and flexible work culture.
Key responsibilities include:
- Reviewing and negotiating contracts
- Engaging with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely, collaborative, and communicative delivery
- Managing and updating Hoare Lea’s terms and conditions and related contract policies and guidance
- Providing ad hoc legal advice
- Maintaining the firm’s legal compliance register
About You
To excel in this critical role, you must have:
- Proven experience as a commercial lawyer (either in-house or within private practice)
- Experience working with clients on supply-of-service agreements, with a preference (though not mandatory) for consulting contracts, ideally within the construction industry
- A commercial mindset, with an ability to develop pragmatic solutions that balance risk against commercial benefit
- Demonstrated ability to prioritise competing deadlines and manage expectations—both internally and externally
- Experience supporting others in skills development, enhancing knowledge, confidence, and capabilities
- Exceptional communication skills and an enthusiasm for problem-solving
- A commitment to continuous improvement.
