Please Note: Oliver Wyman/Marsh operates a hybrid working policy of at least 60% in-office attendance About the Role: As Senior Counsel you will be part of a first class, experienced global in-house legal team dedicated to the management and economic consulting businesses of Oliver Wyman (“OW”). This role is an ideal in-house role for a mid-level level corporate/commercial lawyer with 5 to 7 years post-qualification experience. The Senior Counsel will work closely with the European legal team to handle legal matters for the European region and will report directly to the Chief Counsel for UK and Ireland. Key Responsibilities: Providing advice and support on a wide range of legal issues and projects to the OW businesses across Europe Handling the review, drafting and negotiation of a variety of commercial contracts and other legal documents related to OW’s global professional services businesses, including OW-form engagement letters and contracts, client form agreements, subcontracts, third party release/reliance letters etc. Advising OW consultants and corporate support functions on legal issues generally, including the legal/contractual implications of commercial business decisions (i.e. business/legal counsel and common sense advice) Identifying liability exposure and provide creative solutions to manage and reduce risk Coordinating specialty legal review by internal and external legal advisers on a range of matters Assisting with all matters related to legal support of the OW businesses, including compliance and risk mitigation processes About You: You will be a UK qualified lawyer with at least 5 years’ post qualification experience You will have worked at a leading international law firm within a commercial or corporate team – any In-house Legal experience will be highly advantageous Experience with commercial contract review, drafting and negotiation will be essential You’ll be fluent in English, but fluency in other European languages will also be beneficial You’ll be a elf-starter who is able to work independently and under pressure to meet deadlines and changing priorities You’ll have strong communication and drafting skills, an ability to interface with senior management, and you must exercise good judgment and be commercially minded Why Join Us?
