Senior Counsel – Privacy and Legal Information Security 🏢 (Comcast)

About the Role Are you a privacy and information security attorney eager to influence global corporate strategies in media and technology? Comcast is seeking a passionate, collaborative legal champion to join its London-based Legal Privacy and Information Security team.

As a Senior Counsel, you’ll deliver sharp, pragmatic legal advice—leading compliance programs, governance policies, and risk assessments—while championing a cutting-edge customer-first environment. Drive results across GDPR, AI Act, ePrivacy Directive, NIS2, and Cyber Resilience Act compliance. Spearhead cross-functional initiatives—from mergers and acquisitions (M&A) to design-phase privacy integration—all while shaping a global privacy framework.

Core Responsibilities

  • Thought Leadership: Provide strategic legal advice on privacy and security risks, shaping corporate policies and guiding business strategy in alignment with European/UK regulations.

    • Focus areas: GDPR, NIS2, Cyber Resilience Act, ePrivacy Directive, and emerging frameworks.
  • Compliance: Resolve and advise on privacy and security non-compliance across platforms and services.

    • Conduct Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) and assess data processing risks for new initiatives or entities.
    • Embed privacy by design Principles in product roads and partnerships.
  • Contract and Mutation Expertise:

    • Draft and negotiate privacy clauses across:
      • Data processing agreements.

      • Security standards, using best practices from platforms like Copilot and Harvey.

      • Cross-border data transfers (regional adaptability required).

  • Global Liaison & Projects:

    • Partner with stakeholders to integrate privacy/security in internal workflows, policies, and posters, ensuring alignment with Comcast’s vetted frameworks and industry threats.
  • Emergency & Crisis Response:

    • Lead incident investigations, liaise with law enforcement, regulatory bodies, and targeted organizations.

    • Manage cybersecurity vulnerabilities, breach containment, and cross-border communications.

  • Policy Write & Documentation (it is a spine for risk management):

    • Develop and implement GDPR/UKPDP compliance frameworks, data retention protocols, and security incident protocols.
    • Advise internal teams on optimal legal documentation processes that align with AI, IoT, and cloud requirements.
  • Training and seminars:

    • Conduct role-based training sessions and increase employee awareness, particularly in targets:
      • RPA arbiters (alous).
  • Execution Support:

    • Support Cybersecurity LEGAL (e.g., during freelancing or M&A activities).
    • Contribute to risk-based audits.

Requirements

Skills & Experience (Minimum):

  • Apprenticeship at Law:

    • 7+ years of highly demonstrable legal experience (from BigLaw, nuanced legal chambers, or a tech compliance landscape).
      • 3+ years are mundus solely in privacy and information security (not generalized non-corpo).
      • Specialise in EMEA or UK to begin with, with a global maturity.
  • High-Level Technical Regulations with hands-on expert-level practice: • GDPR (and amendments with impact at ‘service’ level) • UK’s data protection law suite • NIS2 (national fear diagnosis) • Cyber Resilience Act • ePrivacy Directive (or Apple’s extensions) • US General Data Protection/GDPR-aligned state laws (hypothetical future requirement)

  • Tactical Expertise:

    • Practical contract review: Draft and negotiate private access, risk-sharing deal terms, cloud security memberships.
    • Security incident / Regulatory breach roleplay simulation (with proactive, lawful notifications Law Enforcement).
    • Privacy Configuration Rule Evolution: Inform on how updates impact internal data use and osztályons.
  • Course Certificate (Luxury):

    • CIPP/E or the global compliance-accredited equivalent highly recommended.
  • Management & Complex Multithreading:

    • Handle cross-country dialogues with scrumlike-agility (e.g., Red Team/Blue Team protocol setup).
