Senior Legal Secretary Opportunity at Leading London Law Firm
About the Role
Birchrose Associates is partnering with a highly regarded London law firm to recruit an experienced Senior Legal Secretary for their London office.
The Firm Our client is a prestigious law firm known for its exceptional client service and collaborative, team-focused culture. Their strong reputation rests on delivering first-rate legal advice with a dedication to fostering a supportive environment for their people.
The Opportunity This Senior Legal Secretary position within the firm's Corporate team combines secretarial, PA, and administrative duties, while also offering leadership and mentorship.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing client and matter administration, including:
- File opening, billing, and closing
- Document formatting and house style compliance
- Supporting fee-earners with wonderfully varied tasks
- Coordination:
- Diary management and scheduling
- Arranging meetings, travel, and coordinating conference calls
- Client-facing role: Acting as the first point of contact
- Junior Secretarial Support Supervision:
- Offering guidance and workflow assistance
- Financial & administrative responsibilities:
- Billing assistance and invoice drafting
- Managing WIP (Work In Progress) and outstanding debt
- Documentation duties:
- Preparing court bundles, client bibles, and other legal documents
- Filing Systems:
- Maintaining electronic and paper filing for seamless operation

Requirements
Applicants must meet the following prerequisites:
- 4+ years of legal secretarial experience within a law firm
- Proven experience supporting a Corporate team at a law firm (essential)
- Strong proficiency in:
- Legal secretarial and matter management processes
- Billing and workflow administration
- Exceptional diary management and organisational skills
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills and deep knowledge of legal document formatting
