Senior Litigation Counsel – Global Litigation Team
About the Role
Our Global Litigation Team provides critical support for TikTok and its related products, enabling business teams to achieve their boldest objectives through integrated legal guidance. The Global Litigation team handles high-stakes litigation and disputes globally.
We are seeking an experienced Litigation Counsel to join our team, reporting to the Head of Litigation, EMEA and AMA. This role requires leading litigation matters from start to finish with independence, strategic judgment, and endurance in a fast-paced environment.
The ideal candidate is a self-driven, business-savvy litigator with:
- Strong case management and strategic thinking
- Razor-sharp tactical and analytical skills
- Comfort in working autonomously while collaborating cross-functionally
- A technological mindset to dissect product and technical nuances
Responsibilities
The Litigation Counsel will:
- Manage litigation in EMEA: Lead pre-litigation, claims, and court proceedings, ensuring alignment between legal strategy and business objectives.
- Operate autonomously & lead end-to-end litigation in Europe, including:
- Proactively engaging in pre-action correspondence
- Handling e-discovery, fact-finding, and witness preparation
- Drafting advice, pleadings, and case timing milestones
- Facilitating case management conferences and ADR/trial preparation
- Oversee external counsel: Collaborate with outside lawyers to maintain quality, strategy, and advocacy, ensuring seamless execution and alignment with business goals.
- Deliver high-impact legal work independently: Execute strategic advice, contract analysis, and litigation responses with minimal supervision.
- Bridge legal and business: Interpret legal risk and implications for the company, advising senior stakeholders, including directors and the business team.
- Analyze and influence: Skillfully interpret laws to resolve complex legal challenges and commercial matters.
- Assess risks proactively: Identify ambiguities and ambiguous financial factors, recommending solutions to business leadership.
- Drive ownership of complex cases: Mentor junior counsels, share insights with regional teams, and evolve litigation strategies.
- Balance short and long-term goals: Prioritize legal efficiency while supporting broader litigation visions and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications
Minimum Experience:
✔ Significant professional litigation experience (minimum 6–8 years) managing complex cases across multiple jurisdictions. ✔ Legal qualification in (and admitting bar memberships) among jurisdictions where TikTok operates (EMEA/AMR preferred). ✔ Strong collaborative skills, with the ability to work effectively across the organisation at all levels.
