Medical Retina Fellowship Posts
We are advertising for two fellowship posts in medical retina based at Manchester Royal Eye Hospital (MREH), the largest provincial ophthalmic unit in the UK, to commence from July 2026 and October 2026 for a period of 12 months.
MREH is one of the only two dedicated Eye Hospitals in the UK, with a track record of excellence in clinical quality and innovation and an active and ambitious research program.
MREH is at the forefront of imaging technology, including digital wide-field fluorescein and indocyanine-green angiography, enhanced-depth swept-source OCT, anterior segment OCT and ultrasound, and OCT angiography. The postholder will be exposed to a range of existing research studies and will be encouraged to develop their own research interests.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
