The Kellgren Centre for Rheumatology

The Kellgren Centre for Rheumatology provides a local secondary care rheumatology service to central Manchester (approximately 200,000 people). In addition, The Kellgren Centre provides a regional and tertiary referral service for a number of key rheumatological conditions including connective tissue disease and vasculitis (specialist commissioned), Behcet’s syndrome, complex regional pain syndrome, and seronegative spondyloarthropathies. There is also a strong clinical interest in the use of musculoskeletal ultrasound in inflammatory arthritis. The trust has been awarded a centre of excellence status by Lupus UK based on the quality of its services in the clinical management of lupus and related disorders as well as the patient focused services that it provides.

About the Role

The post-holder will be required to:

  • Have training in musculoskeletal medicine with MRCP or equivalent (rheumatology).
  • Work across MSK studies in the Kellgren Centre for Rheumatology.
  • Have (or be in the process of getting) Good Clinical Practice Train.
  • Support recruitment and assessment of patients in clinical trials and experimental medicine research studies, under supervision of PIs from the NIHR Biomedical Research Centre RMD theme.
