Senior M&A Accounting Manager

Senior M&A Accounting Manager Department: Global Financial Reporting, Accounting and Tax Employment Type: Full Time Location: United Kingdom

Description The Senior Manager – M&A Accounting leads the accounting execution and financial reporting for recently acquired companies and other strategic transactions. This role serves as the accounting subject matter expert throughout the transaction lifecycle—from due diligence through post-close integration as well as day to day oversight of acquired comapnies—ensuring compliance with US GAAP, SOX control requirements, and scalable processes across newly acquired entities. This position partners closely with New Venture, FP&A, Tax, Legal, external advisors, and acquired company finance teams.

Key Responsibilities

Post-Close Integration & Process Build-Out Lead accounting integration of newly acquired entities Align accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls with corporate standards Design and implement scalable month-end close processes for acquired businesses Build and document standardized reconciliation frameworks and reporting packages Partner with IT and Finance teams on ERP integration and chart of accounts harmonization Review monthly balance sheet reconciliations for recently acquired companies to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance Establish reconciliation review standards and control documentation Identify gaps in processes and implement corrective action plans Strengthen internal controls and support SOX compliance where applicable Provide hands-on coaching to acquired finance teams to elevate close quality and timelines

Serve as the primary accounting advisor to New Venture team during transactions Present transaction accounting impacts and integration progress to senior leadership Coordinate with external auditors on transaction and integration matters

Coordinate with Technical accounting team and Advisors on purchase price allocation (PPA) in accordance with Financial Accounting Standards Board (ASC 805) Partner with third-party valuation specialists to determine fair value of acquired assets and liabilities Review technical accounting memoranda Evaluate complex accounting areas including revenue recognition, leases, contingencies, and earn-outs

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise 8+ years of progressive accounting experience Big 4 public accounting experience strongly preferred Strong background in M&A accounting and US GAAP technical accounting Experience integrating acquired entities and building close processes Experience with purchase accounting and valuation coordination Strong internal controls and reconciliation framework expertise
