Renewable Energy – Origination, Platform Acquisitions & Strategic Growth

The Opportunity

Our client is one of the most financially robust and ambitious independent power producers operating within the renewable energy sector today.

With a substantial balance sheet, funds raised, a proven track record of developing, owning and operating renewable energy assets, and a clear mandate for growth, the business is entering an exciting new phase of expansion across Europe and North America.

To support this growth strategy, the company is seeking a Senior M&A & Investment Manager to play a leading role in originating, evaluating and executing strategic acquisitions, platform investments and partnership opportunities.

This is a highly visible position offering direct exposure to senior leadership and the opportunity to influence the future direction of a well-capitalised international renewable energy platform. The role combines commercial origination, strategic thinking and transaction execution, making it ideal for an individual looking to move beyond purely advisory or investment roles and take ownership of growth initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Originate acquisition opportunities across Europe and the US, with a particular focus on platform acquisitions, development businesses, IPPs and operating renewable energy companies.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with developers, founders, management teams, investors, advisors, utilities and strategic partners.
  • Build and manage a pipeline of acquisition targets, strategic investments, joint ventures and partnership opportunities aligned with the company's growth objectives.
  • Identify new market entry opportunities and support geographic expansion across existing and emerging renewable energy markets.
  • Lead the evaluation of investment opportunities, including commercial analysis, market assessment, valuation and financial modelling.
  • Prepare investment papers, strategic recommendations and transaction materials for senior management and board-level decision making.
  • Support and lead transaction execution activities including due diligence, structuring, negotiation and closing.
  • Monitor market trends, competitive dynamics, policy developments and regulatory changes across key European and North American markets.
  • Work closely with legal, finance, technical and executive leadership teams throughout the transaction lifecycle.
  • Support post-acquisition integration and value creation initiatives where appropriate.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
