Senior Machine Learning Expert

Senior Machine Learning Expert (AI Training)

About The Role

What if your deep expertise in machine learning could directly determine how the next generation of AI systems reason through complex problems? We're looking for Senior Machine Learning Experts to author high-fidelity reasoning traces—structured, step-by-step thought processes that teach large language models (LLMs) how to plan, use tools, and make reliable decisions in the real world.

This is a fully remote, flexible contract role built for senior-level ML professionals who thrive on intellectually demanding work and want their expertise to leave a lasting mark on frontier AI.

Organization: Alignerr Type: Hourly Contract Location: Remote Commitment: 10–40 hours/week

What You’ll Do

  • Author complex, high-fidelity reasoning traces that capture how an LLM should:
    • Plan, reason, and take action step by step across sophisticated technical tasks
  • Design and document decision-making workflows that reflect:
    • Real-world problem-solving, including tool use, multi-step planning, and error recovery
  • Review and mentor reasoning trace quality to ensure:
    • Logical consistency, clarity, and optimal structure
  • Develop data strategies that help LLMs navigate:
    • Intricate, ambiguous, and high-stakes scenarios reliably
  • Apply your architectural knowledge of ML systems to produce training data that:
    • Meaningfully improves model performance

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
