MacGregor Black are partnering with a market leading consumer goods business on the search for a Senior Management Accountant. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a collaborative finance team in a business that continues to invest in its people, systems, and future growth.

Reporting into the Finance leadership team, you will take ownership of the month-end management accounting process across a number of business areas, ensuring accurate financial reporting, robust controls, and insightful analysis to support business performance.

Working closely with Finance Business Partners and the wider finance function, you will play a key role in budgeting, forecasting, process improvement, and developing high quality management information that supports strategic decision making.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce accurate monthly management accounts and maintain ownership of balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Deliver meaningful variance analysis against budget, forecast, and prior year performance.
  • Support the month-end close process, ensuring reporting deadlines are consistently achieved.
  • Assist with the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and longer term financial planning.
  • Partner with Finance Business Partners and operational stakeholders to provide commercial financial insight.
  • Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, controls, and reporting.
  • Support the ongoing development of ERP systems, BI reporting, and finance automation initiatives.
  • Ensure financial data integrity and compliance with internal controls and accounting standards.
  • Assist with statutory reporting, audit requirements, and tax related activities where required.
  • Coach and develop junior members of the finance team.

  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified.
  • Previous experience within a Management Accounting role, with at least 3 years' post qualification experience preferred.
  • Experience working within a fast-paced consumer goods, retail, manufacturing, or FMCG environment would be advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of management accounting principles, balance sheet control, and financial reporting.
  • Experience supporting budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Knowledge of inventory accounting and multi entity or multi currency environments would be beneficial.
  • Advanced Excel skills with exposure to Power BI, Tableau, or similar reporting tools.
  • Commercially minded with excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communicator with the ability to build relationships across both finance and non-finance teams.
  • Proactive, organised, and comfortable managing multiple priorities within a changing environment.
