Senior Management Accountant
Senior Management Accountant – Carlisle
A growing, highly acquisitive business is seeking a Senior Management Accountant to take ownership of the Carlisle finance team and play a key role in a fast-paced, evolving environment with ambitious growth plans.
This is a highly visible role, reporting to the Group Head of Finance and working closely with the FP&A Director and senior operational stakeholders. You’ll be responsible for month-end close across multiple entities, supporting consolidation, strengthening controls, and driving continuous improvement across the finance function.
Key Responsibilities
- Take full ownership of the Carlisle finance team and lead two Assistant Accountants
- Oversee payroll activity, ensuring timely and accurate payroll closure and reporting
- Own and deliver the month-end close process, including accurate and timely management accounts
- Support group consolidations and consolidated reporting
- Review subsidiary results and ensure consistency with group policies and IFRS
- Approve supplier payments and monitor cashflow
- Oversee balance sheet reconciliations and maintain strong financial control
- Prepare, review, and submit VAT returns and FCA regulatory returns
- Partner with auditors, tax advisors, company secretarial, FP&A, and other key stakeholders
- Support budgeting, forecasting, finance transformation, and process improvement

About You
- Qualified accountant (preferably ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent)
- Strong experience in a Senior Management Accountant or Financial Controller role
- Confident owner of month-end close, group reporting, and reconciliations
- Experience with multi-entity businesses and consolidated reporting
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment
- Strong communicator with proven people management experience
- Experience with FCA reporting, IFRS, and ERP systems would be highly beneficial
