Description

We are hiring a part-time Senior Management Accountant to join our finance team in Harrogate.

You will own adviser management accounts, support month-end, and provide guidance to junior team members. The role combines hands-on delivery with oversight, working closely with advisers and internal stakeholders to produce clear, reliable financial reporting.


What you'll do

Management accounts and reporting

  • Prepare and deliver monthly management accounts for adviser businesses
  • Post accruals, prepayments, and journals, and complete balance sheet reconciliations
  • Support month-end close and meet reporting deadlines

Adviser and stakeholder support

  • Respond to adviser queries in a timely, professional manner
  • Explain financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders
  • Support advisers in understanding their financial performance

Process and administration

  • Review and process departmental documentation, including dividend paperwork
  • Support company secretarial activity where required
  • Maintain accurate, well-documented financial records

The knowledge, experience, and qualifications you need

Experience and knowledge

  • Qualified or part-qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA), or equivalent experience
  • Experience preparing management accounts and supporting month-end processes
  • Sound understanding of core accounting principles

Skills

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
  • Clear communicator, able to explain financial information simply
  • Confident using accounting systems and Excel

  • Organised, with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Collaborative and supportive
  • Willing to mentor others and contribute to team development
