Description
We are hiring a part-time Senior Management Accountant to join our finance team in Harrogate.
You will own adviser management accounts, support month-end, and provide guidance to junior team members. The role combines hands-on delivery with oversight, working closely with advisers and internal stakeholders to produce clear, reliable financial reporting.
What you'll do
Management accounts and reporting
- Prepare and deliver monthly management accounts for adviser businesses
- Post accruals, prepayments, and journals, and complete balance sheet reconciliations
- Support month-end close and meet reporting deadlines
Adviser and stakeholder support
- Respond to adviser queries in a timely, professional manner
- Explain financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders
- Support advisers in understanding their financial performance
Process and administration
- Review and process departmental documentation, including dividend paperwork
- Support company secretarial activity where required
- Maintain accurate, well-documented financial records

Team support
- Guide and support junior team members
- Review work and share best practice
- Provide cover across the team during periods of leave
The knowledge, experience, and qualifications you need
Experience and knowledge
- Qualified or part-qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA), or equivalent experience
- Experience preparing management accounts and supporting month-end processes
- Sound understanding of core accounting principles
Skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
- Clear communicator, able to explain financial information simply
- Confident using accounting systems and Excel
